Who is this trip for This trip is suitable for confident current EP+ students, on their way to CP and who have been in training recently and would like to complete CP.
If you are EP+ and rusty, ie not flown for a few months, or cannot reverse launch yet the the 11 day option is better, giving you a chance to practice take off and landings at an intermediate site. Aguergour is a big site 1800' top to bottom which takes about 10 mins to reach the landing if going down. It is usually very soarable in thermic and dynamic conditions and long soaring flights are usually possible. It is also a great trip for low airtime CPs and all BHPA "Pilot" level tasks can be completed here. Advanced pilots will also have a ball and there is some XC potential at this time of year.
11 day option This option is for a pilot who is somewhere close to completion of EP recently, Or is EP qualified and hoping to complete CP, who has perhaps not flown for a few months, This option gives the chance for refresher training, before going to Marakech, where the site is very high, This option meansyou should fly Outbound to Agadir and Rtn Marrakech which is possible by booking one way flights on many of the low cost airlines. Alternatively you can transfer from Marakech to Agadir by coach (allow extra time)
2 week option This week can be combined with the previous week in the south of Morocco, If you are a beginner or not yet EP qualified. please see our other listing Arrive and depart Marakech airport. We will transport you between the 2 locations on the saturday changeover day (fly to Agadir for the EP and Rtn from Marakech after CP)
Getting there .. Flights are not included, and you will need to arrange your flights. The earlier you book them, the cheaper they are. Staying there We will normally stay In Gite D'Aznag, where Naima and her lovely Moroccan family look after us well, the food is fantastic, typical Moroccan with all local ingredients, some grown at the gite, and is prepared freshly every day, even the bread is made here. The Gite is a few minutes walk from takeoff, and a 15 minute drive from the landing field. The rooms are shared, are simple and fine, There are hot showers, electricity (no wi fi but 4g works) and a hammam (steam bath). Lunch is normally bought at the cafe on take off, for about £3. Warning
Paragliding in Morocco is certainly for the adventurous, it is a wonderful experience in a different culture and for most people it is a fantastic experience they remember for the rest of their lives. We strive to keep these courses as safe as possible, and at all times your safety is our priority. It should be noted that we are in remote locations without access to UK standards of rescue. Marrakech / Agadir hospitals are of a high standard, but there are no Helicopters for rescue, or ambulances with Paramedic outside the city. Axis staff are remote location first aid trained and qualified, but each client should understand the dangerous nature of the sport they are undertaking, and the difficulties these locations can present. Each pilot must have an Insurance policy, to cover rescue and repatriation and medical expenses that specifically states the policy will cover paragliding activities. These policies are available from many companies, we have listed some on our links page.
